OPERATIONS MANAGER 

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager who will be responsible for the daily management and smooth running of the office. Working for us means you will become part of a passionate, dedicated and experienced team of staff who contribute to the development of Clockwise and deliver outstanding service to our 8500 members.

This is an exciting opportunity and you will be supporting the General Manager and Board of Directors in continuously seeking ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Credit Union, and to contribute to the development of new and enhanced products and services to achieve our growth plans. You will have at least 2 years’ experience of office management with skills in operations, finance, staff management, business development and IT.

1. JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER

  • Full Time, 35 hours/week.
  • Salary £22,000 – £25,000 plus company pension scheme

2. OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Operations Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient running of all operations and processing of the Credit Union and all back office functions including members, loans, credit controls, etc.

3. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities are:

  1. Ensure high level of product awareness
  2. Ensure members and potential members receive a high level of service
  3. Contribute to the development and implementation of new products and services to bring improvements and cost efficiencies
  4. Manage the Operations Team in accordance with the policies and procedures of Clockwise Credit Union
  5. Ensure high level of training and monitoring. Oversee recruitment and training of all operational staff
  6. Oversee/undertake appraisals, mentoring. Support General Manager in performance management and pay review process
  7. Support the General Manager in the professional development of Operational staff
  8. Manage and review Operational Procedures Manual
  9. Ensure all operational activities are compliant with current regulation and guidelines, including Money Laundering, Data Security, Fraud Awareness, Complaints, Treating Customers Fairly, etc.
  10. Ensure all operational control checks are carried out and opportunities for improvement acted upon
  11. Managing reviewing and updating company’s health and safety policy and arranging checks
  12. Oversee all aspects of lending operations and quality decisions. Ensure lending policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and kept up to date
  13. Review all aspects of arrears management/credit control processes to monitor quality and effectiveness
  14. Maintain operational procedures manual, ensuring all amendments are authorised, dated and properly communicated

PART TIME MEMBER SERVICES OFFICER

1. JOB TITLE:  MEMBER SERVICES OFFICER

  • Part time, 20 hours/week, Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
  • Based at Head Office, 1 St. Nicholas Place, Leicester LE1 5LB
  • £8.09/hour
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • Temporary 6 month contract (with potential opportunity for permanent contract after initial period)

2. OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide general support to the office team by dealing directly with members and potential members and to ensure that excellent customer service is at the core of all communications with members.

3. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities are:

  1. To raise the level of member services befitting of a Credit Union ethos by treating everyone as individuals in a professional and friendly manner
  2. To oversee the membership application process to ensure all new members receive relevant information to schedule regarding new accounts
  3. To ensure that all members receive timely and accurate communications relevant to their accounts
  4. To ensure members records are entered and maintained in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998

The main day to day tasks are:

  1. To answer telephone calls from members relating to account balances, loan decisions, application procedures and other queries
  2. To respond to general email queries
  3. To ensure that all customer enquires, by all communication methods are accurately logged and tracked to an acceptable resolution
  4. To assist with entering of data from applications accurately onto the customer database
  5. To support the loan department with conducting credit checks and in calling members to advise of loan decisions
  6. To assist in the administration of Child Trust Fund accounts.
  7. To assist with filing and other general administrative duties

4. CONDITIONS

This post is offered initially on a six month fixed term contact.
