Clockwise is proud to award a Community Grant to WRCC (Warwickshire Rural Community Council), helping them expand the reach of their brilliant Community Food Fleet.
The Community Food Fleet isn’t just about delivering hot meals, although that alone is a lifeline for many older or less mobile people across rural Warwickshire. What makes this service special is the daily connection it provides. For many customers, the CFF driver might be the only person they see that day. A quick chat on the doorstep can make all the difference to someone living alone.
Meals on a Mission
WRCC’s Meals on a Mission service operates 365 days a year, ensuring no one is left without a meal or a friendly face, no matter what the calendar says. Every delivery includes a gentle warm and well check, giving reassurance both to customers and to their families. The drivers are all Enhanced DBS checked, so relatives know their loved ones are in safe and trusted hands.
Why this grant matters
The Food Fleet is growing right across the county, but there’s still work to do to reach everyone who could benefit. WRCC wants to connect with more potential customers so the service can become fully sustainable. Our Community Grant will help them spread the word further, reach more households, and support even more people who rely on that daily visit.
More than a meal
The CFF drivers are far more than delivery staff. They’re a friendly face at the door, a reassuring presence for next of kin, and a subtle safety check rolled into one. It’s the sort of help that’s hard to quantify but easy to appreciate if you’ve ever worried about a loved one living on their own.
We’re delighted to support WRCC as they continue this essential work. It’s exactly the kind of community-led support that Clockwise believes in.
