Clockwise gives £250 to St Chad’s Warm Welcome Pop-in from the Community Grant scheme

Elaine enjoyed meeting all the lovely people dropping in for a cuppa and toast at St Chad’s during a cold January morning and feeling the warmth of Deacon Claire’s welcome and everyone present alongside the cosy warmth of the “warm space”!

Elaine said “It was my pleasure to present a Clockwise Credit Union Community Grant cheque for £250 towards the costs of running the cafe and to chat with all present about the benefits of becoming a member of Clockwise Credit Union offering safe savings and affordable loans, budget accounts and a current account alongside our Prizesaver account offering members a chance of winning £5000 per month!

One lady asked if it cost to become a member and I was happy to answer “It is free to join, actually we give you your first £1 to open your share account and entitle you to become a part owner of Clockwise”

“As a not-for-profit financial company, with no shareholders to answer to, all our surplus cash goes back into the local community with interest, prizes for savers and good borrowers and with community grants like the funds Deacon Claire applied for”

To apply for a Clockwise Community Grant simply write a letter to Teresa Manning, Clockwise Credit Union’s CEO explaining why you need the funds and provide information about your community group.

Deacon Claire replied “Thank you Elaine and everyone at Clockwise Credit Union for £250 for St Chad’s Warm Welcome Pop-in which provides free refreshments and fellowship to local people each week. It is an opportunity to meet for a coffee and a chat and to meet old friends and make new ones. Everyone is welcome!”
