International Credit Union Day (ICU) has been celebrated by credit unions around the world on the third Thursday of October since 1948. The celebrations held on this day are to show appreciation to members, recognise the history of credit unions, promote their achievements and acknowledge the hard work of the people who work within the industry. Ultimately the goal of the day is in raising awareness of the work that credit unions do around the world in helping people and getting members involved.
International Credit Union Day 2016
Each year the day focuses around a people oriented theme. This year International Credit Union Day is to be held on Thursday 20th October with the theme, “The Authentic Difference”.
To raise awareness of how Clockwise Credit Union has made a difference to its members and how it can make a difference to our local community, we will be marking this special day with a celebration at our head office branch. We would like to invite all our members to come along and bring friends and family. Some of our partners and other notable members of the community will also be attending. The event will be promoted throughout the local community and we will be offering free membership to anyone who joins on the day. We are delighted to have partnered with the charity, Loros, for the day and the value of the free memberships given out will be totalled and donated to Loros at the end of the day.
We hope you will come along, support Loros in encouraging your friends and family to join, celebrate and have some fun with us!
